Arts for Healing and Justice Network

About:

The Arts for Healing and Justice Network (AHJN) provides structure and coordination for the collaborative work of community-based arts education organizations serving system-impacted youth in Los Angeles County to create alternatives to incarceration, build resiliency and wellness, increase community health, eliminate recidivism, and center arts as a change strategy for young people, communities, and systems

School-Based Arts Education Programming:

Delivered by our network of Member organizations, AHJN coordinates cross-disciplinary healing-arts programming for systems-impacted youth all across LA County. We provide multi-week artist residencies, professional development for youth-serving adults, and standalone workshops in juvenile detention facilities, schools, and community sites. We meet youth where they're at, wherever they are.

Through culturally-relevant experiential learning, young people are encouraged and invited to explore new artistic practices, share their stories, and connect. In our Network, it's about the process over the product, and the art is a tool to facilitate healing and wellbeing.
